City of Gilman, Illinois
The City of Gilman is accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Worker in the Water Sewer Utilities division of the Public Works Department. As part of a dedicated team, the Maintenance Worker will be responsible for the repair and installation of water and sewer mains, cleaning and repairing storm sewer inlets, excavation, replacement of damaged sections, and hydrant repair. The Maintenance worker must be able to respond to emergency call-outs and participate in snow and ice control operations.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), and at least one year of experience in general or municipal maintenance and repair. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Wages are determined by experience. Benefits package includes health insurance, paid vacation and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension plan. The normal work hours for this position are Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
